It´s the Agile Hornet Pro 727 White w/ Floyd Rose $600 which you can probably google for an image. And Thank you for the birthday shout.

Dude, that´s a sharp lookin´ guitar. It looks worth the price. Are you able to play one at a local shop? It´s funny that you´re lookin´ at scoring a V ´cause that´s what I just got. I never owned a V in my entire guitar life. I just got this one... http://www.gear-vault.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/kk-v2.jpg

It´s a Kerry King B.C. Rich. It´s become one of my favorite guitars and I just got it. Slayer´s my favorite band and Kerry is my favorite guitar player. Here´s a better description of it from the mother site, complete with a video promo... http://www.bcrich.com/v2_kerry_king.asp

I like that KK v better than the other I´ve seen in guitar shops. Its funny too. That Kahler trem has great reveiws and I have never got the chance to play one. The new G & L Jerry Cantrel replica has one two. How does that thing hold up compared to a floyd? Are the differences subtle or drastic?

Yeah. Dude, I just saw Metallica at Madison Square Garden. Awesome show.

Anyway, Terry, I think that the Kahler trem is far superior to the Floyd. I own real Floyd´s as well as the "patented" ones that come with a lot of guitars and I like them but the design is just not as good as the Kahler, in my opinion. I´ve owned Kahlers since I first started playing. I got one installed on my first electric when I was like 13. I´ve never liked the double locking deal on the Floyds. Kahler doesn´t have that. The saddles on the Kahler are less likely to break a string. It´s WAY easier to set up as far as intonation and tuning go. There´s no springs. The Kahler feels a lot smoother. I just think that the overall design of the Kahler is better than the Floyd.

Dude, they´re awesome. I wish all of my guitars had them. But I do like the Floyds too, just not as much. One benefit to the Floyd is that if you DO break a string (which usually happens on the bridge saddle for me) then you can just clamp it back in. I´ve found that the Floyds are so prone to breakage on the bridge saddle.

I think that I discussed this in a thread on here somewhere a while back. I have a method to fight breakage on Floyd bridges. I take a thin gauge of electrical wire, cut it, strip the insulation off the copper wire, and use the insulation to cushion the string right where it goes over the bridge saddle. You just run the string through it before you clamp it in. I haven´t broken many strings since I started doing this. One thing that people might worry about with this method is that it´ll deaden the string since it´s not metal on metal. Truthfully, it does change the tone of the string a bit, but I actually like the effect of it. But this may not work for other dudes because they may get bent about the change in tone or loss of sustain. I only use this on my metal guitars though. When you´re running with high gain you have tons of sustain anyway.

This was a long post...
