Yo peoples
I just got my first wah wah pedal which is also my first pedal period
Its used so it didnt come with a manual.
Any tips for using it? |

| Getting a wah for your first and only pedal was a good choice. Its the most used effect I can think of. What kind is it. |

Dunlop Original Cry Baby |

| Awesome. I have the Dimebag Cry baby from hell and its a bad mother. Sometimes when I solo I boost and leave the wah all the way forward and it gets this gnarly trebley tone. Its obnoctious and I love it. |

| Nice...so any way what tips do you have for using a wah wah pedal |
|
|---|
| Well, a wah pedal is pretty much a amped up tone knob. In the back position its dark and muddy, and in the forward position its way bright and obnoxious. So, depending on what you are using it for you can achieve a whole bunch of sounds. I would listen to some Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani and Dimebag for a good judge of what you want to sound like. Some use it as a whole sound for there guitar tone, while me and others use it as a boost or effect to pronounce the existing tone. |

| Thanks for the tip...and i listen to metallica all the time so i got a decent idea for shredding wah. |

| It´s funny you mention Metallica. To a lot of guitar players, Kirk Hammet´s use of the WAH is a good example of "what not to do" with a WAH pedal. People think that he overuses it. I actually like what Kirk does with it. It´s a part of his sound and style. But I´m more like Terry, I just kinda use it to color my leads. Like, I´ll keep it somewhere in the middle and just leave it there. Sometimes I rock it though. I use a VOX, by the way. That´s my favorite WAH. |

Yeah I know...but I love the way he uses it
to me its just awsome |

| Dude, I got a question for you... which foot do you use the WAH with? I´ve noticed that alota players (right-handed guitar players) use the right foot on the WAH. I´m a right-handed player but I use my left foot on pedals. I think that it´s so much easier that way because the body of the guitar rests on my right side. The dudes who use the right foot always hafta kinda push their guitar up a little to get their foot up on the pedal. If you can, start out by using the left foot (if you´re a right-handed player). I think that it´s more ergonomically correct. |

I would have to agree with most people that think that Kirk uses way to much wah. He´s an alright guitar player and all, but he´s definitly not the first guitar player that comes to mind when I think about who I would try to mold my playing after.
And I use my left foot. And I also put my left foot up on stuff when I´m at practice or on stage...heh. |

| Yeah me three, i use my left foot as well and as far as kirk hammett goes...it boils down to personal opinion. |
