No didn't see it... I have been in the process of moving over the past few days. So I have been without a computer and the internet for almost a week.

Right now I'm typing this on a computer that is in the middle of the floor of my new studio/office. My desk broke during the moive so I have to sit on the floor to type. My carpet delivery is VERY late so I can't even setup the studio because the whole thing will need to be torn down when the carpet is installed.

Things will be back to normal in a few more days and I will be keeping an eye on the site.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for keeping things clean for me I would have been very upset to have seen that this morning.

rel='nofollow'

One way to remove spammers interest in spamming your site is to implement an attribut in the html tags holding the posts here on the site called rel="nofollow"

example:
bullcrap

or even more simple put it in the html tag:

What's this do? Well it tells search engines not to scan the page. That's why you get spammed is so the search engines will pick up the spam. Doing this, the bots spamming you will also see that you've placed this in your code and will pass up your site as a target.

Here's more info - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_in_blogs#rel.3D.22nofollow.22

PS - Mike, need your help, call a brotha!!! I email you and cox... later!

But the spammers will still join. They won't know that tag is there. That only stops the search engines.

OK I did something that I think should stop these jurks.

Give it a few days and we'll see how many spambots hit the site.

This is my own simple hack so I'm not sure how well it will work. I may have also deleted a few real people but I hope not. If so... I'm sorry.

Keep your fingers crossed.

It seems to be working. Not one spam bot has signed up today.

This will not stop people from coming onto the board and posting spam but it should stop the robots for the time being anyway.

Hopefuly it will work for a while.

So someone put some pretty messed up pictures up this morning. I ran a search to see who it was from and it came from a group out of korea. I banned that entire ip address segment. Mad

The only way I can think of to get rid of this would be to make every post be approved before its posted and I'm not going to do that.

But my little trick is still keeping away most of the spam bots.

I was deleting 3~5 of those a day, on a slow day. It's gotten a lot better of the past few days. This keeps up and I'm gonna have to go back to making constructive topics to have something to do here. Laughing
