I'm trying to learn finger picking patterns that I can use in a variety of different songs. Two patterns in particular I need help with is Tim McGraw's "If You're Reading This" and Lincoln Brewster's "Surrender." Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi koppin349,

I don't have any real insight into either of these tunes. I did take the time to listen to both. They don't seem hard you should be able to pick them out by ear with a little effort. If you're into the country sound and interested in picking patterns I would recommend some Chet Atkins, Doyle Dykes even Willy Nelson. There are much better fingerpickers and players to get into.

Sorry for for the delay in the reply but I was hoping that someone may know something about these two guys but I guess not.

Welcome to GKN,
